Greyhounds Moving to New Region for 2010

Posted Thursday, December 10, 2009 by Web Admin
After several years of being in Region 1-AAAA stretching from South  Georgia and Columbus to Gray, the Greyhounds will be returning to a region made up of mostly south metro Atlanta teams beginning 2010.  Jones County will be part of  a 13-team Region 3-AAAA, which will be divided into two subregions.  The Greyhounds are placed in Division A along with Alcovy of Covington, Dutchtown of Hampton, Union Grove and Ola of McDonough, and Woodland of Stockbridge.  Division B will include Griffin, Upson-Lee of Thomaston, McIntosh of Peachtree City, Northgate of Newnan, Fayette County, Starr's Mill and Whitewater of Fayetteville. The new region alignment will cut down down on travel time compared to the former region allignment.  There was speculation the Greyhounds may be included in a region with Houston County, Northside of Warner Robins and Warner Robins, that are dropping from AAAAA to AAAA.
