Two blocked extra points in the first half and three drives ending on downs in the second half spoiled Homecoming for the Panthers.

Jones County's Corey Solomon scored from four yards out on a misdirection play with 15.5 seconds remaining, and the extra point by Zack Suarez helped the Greyhounds rally from a 25-6 halftime deficit to knock off Americus-Sumter, 26-25.

Jones' Terrance Gore tallied 132 of his 171 rushing yards in the second half, and Jerroski Walton led the Panthers with 154 yards on 30 rushing attempts.

The Panthers (3-4, 1-4 1-AAAA) had 425 yards of total offense compared with 337 for the Greyhounds (4-4, 2-4), which had 71 yards in the first half.

The Panthers' drives in the second half stalled at the Jones 25, 16 and 21.

Ahead 25-19 with less than two minutes remaining, the Panthers went for it on 4th-and-3 from the Jones 45, but failed to convert.

Cody Lanford ran three of the first four plays on the next Jones possession before Gore's run around the right side got the Greyhounds to the Panther 4. That set up the touchdown from Solomon to tie the game at 25-25 with 15 seconds left in the game.  Zack Suarez kicked the extra point allowing the Greyhounds the go ahead point.
